Carnival of Souls

She walked out of the river. Something followed.

Mary Henry is the only one to surface after a car plunges off a bridge. She takes a job as a church organist in a new town, but a pale figure keeps appearing at the edge of her vision, and an abandoned lakeside pavilion seems to be calling her. A dreamlike, low-budget one-off that became a cult landmark.

Widely circulated as a public-domain title in the United States.
